As a self-confessed nerd (couldn't hide it even if I tried), I love it when people are confident enough to let their inner geek out too! But don't let my own nerdiness scare you off, just because I am a nerd who plans weddings doesn't mean that the only weddings I plan are all in-your-face, overtly themed weddings - luxurious and subtle theming are on offer too!

Celebrate with Rachel Louise specialises in designing and coordinating alternative & quirky weddings tailored to couples who are fans of nerdy pursuits, fandoms and pop culture.

With my services, you can bring your unique interests and passions to your wedding celebrations and create an unforgettable wedding that truly reflects who you are as a couple.

I'll be here for you both every step of the way, I will be your guide (your McGonagall if you will). Use my knowledge, connections & creativity to make your dream wedding a reality

Rule-books can be thrown out of the window with me, as I'm all about helping you create your own traditions rather than being tied up by cultural expectations that you'd rather not go along with.

My biggest reasons 'why'

TLDR: I decided to become a wedding planner to make wedding planning accessible to as many couples as possible and help to make a difference in people's live.

There are so many reasons why people get into the wedding industry or become self-employed, but some of my biggest reasons for taking the plunge and pursuing my dream are:

Helping others
  • Creating weddings unique to each couple and seeing them light up when they see their ideas come to life.
  • Donating 5% of all profits to charity (my chosen charities are currently Crohns & Colitis UK and The Little Princess Trust)
Making planning accessible
  • Many wedding resources are not easily accessible to those with different abilities including neurodiversity, visual impairments and colour blindness
  • Many wedding planning resources revolve around long-standing and often outdated traditions
  • A lot of resources and services are very much aimed at the cis, heterosexual couple rather than being open to all

I want to change all of that

Some facts about me

The person behind the planning

I may be in my 30s but I am still very much a child at heart

Personal Life

I am the oldest of 5 siblings and grew up in Wales.

I went to University in Aberystwyth, studied English Literature and Drama & Theatre Studies.

Live with my partner Jez in Chiswick, West London (who is also my incredible website guy).

Fandoms

Sliiiightly obsessed with Disney, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Marvel, DC, Dr Who, Sherlock, musical theatre, food, pin badges and much more.

A proud Hufflepuff, lover of food, strong sense of justice and loyalty.

I love animals and have been looking to adopt cats & dogs since I moved to London. Hoping for some fur babies of my own very soon.

I don't take myself too seriously, love to have fun, be silly and have a good giggle. Also prone to using expletives - the more excited I get, the more curse words that appear!

I'm a proud bisexual, neurospicy woman and use she/her pronouns.

My favourite season is Autumn - I love a good night in curled up on the sofa, under a blanket, drinking a hot chocolate and watching a film with great company or snuggled up with a good book.
