What’s In, What’s Out for 2025 Weddings
Some of my favourite wedding trends for this year and things I'm glad to see the back of

Wedding trends are like love stories - they evolve with the times. For 2025, it’s all about personalisation, sustainability, and creating experiences that feel uniquely you.
If you’re planning a nerdy, alternative, or inclusive wedding, you’re in for a treat because this year’s trends are all about breaking the mould (and so is Celebrate with Rachel Louise).
So, without further ado here’s what’s in and what’s out for 2025 weddings.
What’s In:
1. Sustainability Takes Center Stage
Many nearlyweds are opting for eco-conscious choices like reusable decor, plant-based menus, and pre-loved wedding outfits.
Think wildflower bouquets, vintage rings, and locally sourced everything. Not only does it look stunning - it’s much kinder to the planet.
2. Bold Colour Palettes and Unique Themes
Say goodbye to pastels and hello to statement colours. Deep greens, moody purples, and electric blues are taking over. Pair them perfectly with themes that scream personality, like fantasy worlds, gothic elegance, or Moulin Rouge-inspired rock ’n’ roll weddings.
Whatever your geeky wedding fantasy, there’s a way to make it happen!
3. Interactive Guest Experiences
Forget the standard table numbers. Guests want to do things at weddings. Think build-your-own Lego characters as a guestbook alternative, or build-your-own cocktail stations, immersive photo booths, treasure hunts/challenges per table or even wedding themed Dungeons & Dragons campaigns as part of your evening entertainment.
4. Personalised Vows and Ceremony Alternatives
Your vows should feel like you, whether that’s quoting Tolkien, Marvel, or your favourite video game. Many nearlyweds are ditching traditional ceremonies for celebrant-led alternatives with personalised touches like unity rituals, ring warming, broom jumping, live storytelling, and all sorts of personalised interactive moments with their guests.
5. Tech-Forward Weddings
It’s not just wedding websites that get listed under ‘wedding tech’ these days. From live streaming for long-distance guests to augmented reality photo ops, technology is making weddings more inclusive and fun. Not to mention, custom wedding apps can be a lifesaver for coordinating everything from RSVPs to playlists.
What’s Out:
Cookie-Cutter Decor
Generic centerpieces and traditional chair covers are on their way out. Most nearlyweds want decor that tells their story, whether it’s Lego centerpieces or tables named after their favourite books/ characters/ places. Generic decor < Personalised decor.
Excessive Formalities
Overly strict schedules and formal wedding breakfasts are taking a backseat to make way for relaxed, guest-focused timelines. Think grazing tables, food trucks, and more casual vibes.
The main thing though? What do you guys want for your wedding?…
Ultimately, it comes down to what kind of vibe you and your partner/s want for your wedding celebrations. Do you want it to feel like a music festival? Like you’ve stepped into another world (I’m thinking Hobbiton, Narnia, Velaris)? Like a west end show? or do you have a specific vision that you want to bring to life? DO IT!
You deserve your dream wedding and the right wedding suppliers will make that happen.
Looking to embrace the trends you love and leave the rest? Whether it’s nerdy, bold, or totally out-of-this-world, 2025 is your year to shine and I love making sure that you do!
Let’s craft a wedding that’s uniquely yours.
